We had a 3-day honeymoon in Salt Fork (in the lodge) back in 1993. This year, we went there for a 4-day camping trip to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Our 29-year-old daughter joined us one night for dinner, a walk around the campground, and cards. Sadly, I didn't get a photo of her. It was a great trip.
On the first full day (Saturday), we hiked from our campsite up to the trailhead for Gunn's Glenn. Then we did the Valley Brook Trail and the Deer Run Trail. Oh, first we did the Forest Ridge Trail, which is a paved, short trail. We thought we could hit one of the others, but it didn't.
Day 2, we did Morgan's Knob and Morgan's Knob Loop Trails, and Pine Crest, which we had to drive to. Then we came back to our campsite and walked up to the Beach Point Trail, which led back to the loop we were staying in, just on the other side from where we were situated.
Day 3, the day we were leaving, we parked at the Camp Check-in and walked to the Shadbush trailhead and did that trail, out and back.
They were all beautiful. I can't say which was my favorite.
